Good bedding should support comfort, hygiene and easy spot-cleaning. The best setup depends on the enclosure, the bedding material and how often it is maintained.
Prioritise dryness and cleanliness
Wet or heavily soiled areas should be removed promptly. Check corners, under hides and around feeding areas where moisture tends to collect.
Avoid strongly scented or dusty materials
Choose materials intended for small animals and follow the manufacturer's use instructions. Dusty or unsuitable materials can make the environment less comfortable.
Keep hay and fresh water readily available and ask an exotic-animal veterinarian for species-specific health and nutrition advice.
